Salt & Light Ministries is delighted to announce our first in-person Leaders’ Conference since the pandemic, hosted by DC Umoja. This gathering provides a unique opportunity to reconnect after years of virtual interactions, fostering a renewed sense of community and shared purpose. The conference aims to equip leaders with the tools and inspiration they need to serve effectively in their respective ministries. Together, we will celebrate God’s work globally, reflecting on His faithfulness and the growth of His kingdom through our collective efforts.
This conference marks a momentous occasion in the history of Salt & Light Ministries—a generational and cultural leadership transition. Joemon Joseph will succeed Steve Thomas, ushering in a new era that underscores the growing influence of the Global South in shaping the future of the church. This transition represents a commitment to embracing diversity and adapting to the changing dynamics of global leadership while remaining rooted in our shared vision and mission. Join us in witnessing and celebrating this transformative milestone in our ministry's journey.

Speakers include leaders from the Salt & Light family of churches, as well as keynote speaker Dave Smith from KingsGate Community Church, Peterborough, UK.
“Restoration, renewal and revival!” Jesus filling everything in the church and in the nations for his glory! This is the title of our International Leaders’ Conference this year, in May. After the last two years of shaking uncertainty for many of us through the pandemic we have been experiencing, many of us are in need of restoration personally, and in our trust in God, that he still wants to “fill everything everywhere with the presence of Jesus his Son”.
Our keynote speaker is Dave Smith, apostolic leader of Kingsgate Community Church, Peterborough, UK. Dave is a good friend of the Salt & Light family, is a prayerful leader with a big vision, has seen his current church grow from a small plant in the nineties to 1500+, which is now reproducing itself in a number of church plants. He is a man of prayer, faith, vision and wisdom, and will rekindle any flagging spirits with messages each day, which he already feels he has heard clearly from the Lord.
We will also have seminars each day on leadership issues, theological issues (standing for truth in a diverse world), mission and evangelism, and youth ministry in today’s world.

Team leader Steve Thomas writes: “The conference title Unleashing the Kingdom! is borrowed from the book of the same name by Jerry. We will address lots of issues that all of us are facing, in particular how the global south is seeing huge growth of people coming to Christ and engaging in discipleship relationships, and how churches in the global north are static by comparison. This theme will help us enormously in our understanding of what it means to be missional churches.”
Other topics include post-Covid church, the emotional health for leaders, the development of fivefold/apostolic ministry teams and multi-ethnic church.
The event was aimed to equip and inspire eldership teams, spouses and other leaders: members of Ephesians 4 / apostolic / zone / region teams; different ministries and leadership gifting; younger, emerging and mature ministries; men and women.
