ILC12 just around the corner
I’ve spent several hours this morning preparing for our International Team meeting, Senior Leaders’ forum, and International Leaders’ Conference. I am looking forward to it immensely, and have considerable excitement in my own heart and spirit about the impact it could have on us all. It is always good to get together again with friends from well over twenty nations. How rich our fellowship is, and how deeply we appreciate one another! The variety of cultures, languages and personalities contrasts highlights the very deep unity we have in God’s love, and in the Body of Christ.
For many years we have talked of ourselves as a family on mission. But I believe that this week’s gatherings are going to project us forward much more powerfully in understanding our mission, and having more clarity as leaders in how we go about it. I am daring to believe that this conference will change nations, because God gives us a clearer focus and voice.
And I’m sure it will be lots of fun as well! Meeting friends new and old, telling stories of what God is doing in the nations, hearing of many conversions, healings, church plants, and social projects.
I am asking those who read this blog to join me in praying hard for us – for God’s presence to be with us in manifest power and glory, for a spirit of revelation and encouragement to be imparted to every leader who attends, and for serious business to be done with God, and decisions taken that will cause churches and groups of churches to leap forward in their impact in their own nations and other nations as yet untouched.
And may the Salt & Light family not be the same again! We’re praying for a kairos moment, a true encounter between God and leaders in our family of churches, which will burn passion for God and his world so deep in our hearts, that we fulfil his glorious commission to make disciples of all nations to the full!
