In The Presence Of Jesus

On Sunday 22 July 2018, late afternoon Canadian time, Barney Coombs passed into the presence of Jesus. It is with sadness that we all receive this news, but we rejoice that Barney is beholding the beauty of the Lord he loved face to face.

Barney had been struggling with dementia over the last couple of years, but about ten days ago had a serious brain haemorrhage, which medics could not contain or repair. After a few days, it was clear that this was God’s time for Barney to pass into the presence of Jesus, and his family prepared for that.

The family will be discussing thanksgiving arrangements over the next few days. There will probably not be any immediate celebration of Barney’s life. There will probably be a substantial thanksgiving for Barney’s life in a few weeks or couple of months, which we are sure many would want to attend. We will keep everyone posted once decisions are made.

Please do communicate Barney’s passing with all of your networks of relationships, and other Christian leaders outside of our Salt & Light family, and please continue to pray with us for the Coombs family as they face the reality of Barney’s passing.
