Ultimate Intention

Ultimate Intention (UI) is the name for a body of work with 18-25 year olds in the Salt & Light Family. Hannah & Dave Mumford have recently taken over the leadership of the team.

How did you both come to be involved in Salt & Light and the Ultimate Intention team.

Hannah and I have both grown up in Salt and Light and we have a passion to see this movement have a massive impact on the UK. We were approached by Andy Barclay-Watt on behalf of the UK Team and asked to seek God about taking on Ultimate Intention. Initially we were very enthusiastic and after praying about it we felt it was right. After finding out we were going to have a baby, we were again asked if we thought this was the right move to make considering our imminent new arrival and God, who already knew our future, gave another resounding “yes”

What have you most appreciated about what’s been handed onto you?

Pete and Cat Gladwell previously led UI and have laid a great foundation on which to build. Due to their excellent networking, many young people from S & L have attended numerous successful UI conferences and mission trips. Since we have taken this on, they have been very supportive and helpful as we plan the first conference in November.

What is Ultimate Intention all about?

UI is all about a generation of 18-30’s becoming consumed with Christ, and His Kingdom, knowing that our lives are not a matter of talk but of power. UI will look to help network and challenge young leaders to rise up, take risks and make a difference through planting churches and reaching communities. This is essential to seeing the 2020vision> of Salt & Light outworked.

Where do you see us being as a family in five years time?

The 2020vision> will be a clear direction for us to build on over the next 5 years. If all who came to UI returned from the conference filled with a passion for Jesus and ready to take steps of faith with courage then we will start to see the fruit of this vision sooner rather then later. Our conferences will run annually to increase the sense of togetherness as we pursue the vision God has placed in our hearts.
