Church Relief International
Description: A channel for aid, relief and development funding from Salt & Light churches to church-based projects in the development world
Find out more: Mark Harland, Director, CRI (UK)
Church Relief International (CRI) is the relief and development arm of the Salt & Light family of churches.
What do we give to?
Primarily, CRI provides funding for 2 purposes:
- emergency relief (war, famine, natural disasters)
- community development
Project objectives will benefit the community as a whole (or groups within the community) rather than specific individuals.
We want donations to fund the essential resources of a project itself and not an associated workers costs. Funds will also be used for short-term emergency efforts, but CRI primarily aims to facilitate work with local churches and agencies to develop longer term solutions.
Who do we give to?
CRI gives financial support to small, specific, ground-level projects rather than large, general relief/ development efforts. We want our money to make a difference, not to get 'lost' in a very large project.
Projects usually have relational links to a Salt & Light church, and will most likely be run by an organisation with a Christian ethos.
