Transform FAQs
If you have any questions that have not been answered by other parts of our site have a look through the answers to our frequently asked questions below. If you are still unsure on a particular point please contact the Events Office (events@saltlight.org | 0161 820 7530 | Salt & Light Events Office, The King's Centre, Raglan Road, Sale, M33 4AN).
What are the deadlines for booking online?
The published early booking deadline 13 December 2010 has been extended to 17 January 2011 to allow more people to benefit from the first early booking rate and save 24%. Book by 26 April 2011 to get the 12% discount.
Sunday 10th July 2011 is the deadline to ensure camping with your church, after which any new bookings may have to camp elsewhere onsite. The final deadline for online booking is Wednesday 27th July 2011 after which any new bookings must be made on arrival.
How do I make a family booking?
There are two family rates available (see our Pricing page). One applies if two parents are attending and the other applies if only one parent is attending. In both cases the family fee is equivalent to paying the adult rate for the parent(s) and the child rate for one child only, all other children are effectively free. In order to benefit from the family rate on offer for Transform you need to make sure you choose only ‘Family’ delegate types when making your booking.
If two parents are attending they should each be registered as ‘Family – Parent’ and all of their own children should be registered as ‘Family – Child’. The only difference if only one parent is attending is that parent should be registered as ‘Family – Single Parent’, children are registered in the same way. Following these instructions should mean the correct family rate is charged.
Can I add non-family members to my family booking?
Yes you can. If you make a family booking as described above the correct family rate will be charged. You can then simply add other delegates using the non-family delegate types. For example if a friend of your child will be joining you register them as Child rather than Family – Child.
Who qualifies for the concessionary adult rate?
Basically anyone who is unwaged. So that applies to those who are unemployed or retired as well as students and people who only work voluntarily.
Who do I make cheques payable to?
All cheques for Transform or any of our other events should be made payable to 'Salt & Light Ministries' and sent to "Salt & Light Events, The King's Centre, Raglan Road, Sale, M33 4AN" together with an accompanying note quoting your booking reference.
I can’t make it for the whole of Transform. Is it possible to come to part of the event?
Yes. Day visitors do not need to book in advance and can simply show up and register on the day or days they can make it. Day visitor prices are available from our Pricing page. Day visitor prices do not include camping so if you want to come for part of the event and stay onsite please contact the Events Office and a part-booking can be arranged.
Can I make amendments to an existing booking?
Yes. Once a booking has been made you cannot make changes to it online however if you contact the Events Office we will be happy to help amend a booking. We can add delegates, change the type of pitch you have booked or add optional extras such as catering or the youth activity pass.
What size camping plot do I need?
Basically, to comply with fire regulations, we have to ensure a 3m gap between the canvas of adjacent tents. This is achieved by everyone ensuring that their tent is 1.5m from the edge of their plot. You will therefore need to book a plot into which your tent will fit with at least a 1.5m gap on all sides. Check out the Camping page of our Accommodation section for a diagram illustrating this. If you have multiple tents on your plot these can be closer to one another than 1.5m but the required break must be maintained between the edge of your plot. If you need further guidance please contact the Events Office.
How can I book multiple camping plots for my group?
Our booking system links one type of accommodation to each booking. A separate booking must be made for each pitch you wish to book. If you need to book multiple pitches for your family please contact the Events Office so we can “split” the family across two bookings and ensure you are not overcharged!
How do I book a plot with access to an electrical hook up?
There is not a separate section for booking electrical hook ups. Instead they are options on the Accommodation page of the booking process (just after you input your contact details and before you register delegates). For example if you would like a caravan and awning plot with an electrical hook up make sure you choose “Caravan & Awning (Electric)” rather than “Caravan & Awning”. For a large pitch with electric choose “Large Pitch – 9x8m (Electric)” rather than “Large Pitch – 9x8m” etc.
Please note that the provision of electrical hook ups is spatially limited which in some cases could mean you will have to choose between staying with your church and having the hook up. Delegates wishing to use electricity in tents are required to provide their own camping distribution box with built-in RCD.
Do I have to pay for an electrical hook up if it is required for medical reasons?
In keeping with previous years an electrical hook up will be supplied free of charge for anyone who requires it because of a serious medical condition. If this applies to you please make your booking online as normal, select the pay by cheque option and contact the Events Office before you make payment.
How do the age groups for kids and youth work?
All kids and youth at Transform will be in groups based on the school year they are in during 2010/11 - in other words the year they will have just finished when they get to Transform. All you need to do is input the date of birth of any child when adding them to your booking and we will sort out the rest. Unfortunately the age boundaries are strict and children and youth will not be permitted to join any older groups.
Are pets allowed onsite during Transform?
Due to the large numbers of people in close proximity at Transform no pets are allowed onsite during the event.
