Employment and Vulnerable Beneficiaries Briefing
The briefing paper from Stewardship on Employment & Vulnerable Beneficiaries was sent to the administrators mailling list on 19th November, if you would like to receive a copy then please let us know.
The main points are:
- With the implementation of the new ISA (Independent Safeguarding Authority), they are gradually introducing a new regime. However, CRB Disclosures will still be part of this. From next July, new staff and volunteers will need to be registered with the ISA. From that date, the need for registration of existing volunteers and employees will be phased in over a five year period. I am sure there will more details emerging as the time gets nearer.
- I am thinking that I must ensure that CRB Disclosures for our existing staff and volunteers should be brought up to date in the first half of next year to avoid any obvious gaps where the Disclosure will be out of date too quickly.
- If you have posts where you use ‘Genuine Occupational Requirement’ to recruit only Christians, the parameters for that are going to be tightened next year – do read the Briefing if this applies to you.
If you have any queries, please feel free to talk to Matt Biddlecombe in Oxford, David Rolles in Manchester or Mike Poulton in Basingstoke.
