Forum for Administrators

As the legal and financial framework that churches have to work within has broadened, so the vision for the original 'Admin Forum' has also grown to encompass many of the areas that we have to be aware of, including those affecting treasurers and trustees (also Directors where the church is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee). We remain committed to envisioning, equipping and encouraging good administration and governance across the family of churches, and also seek, as best we can, to help another be informed about current legislation and best practice.

Envisioning

  • Those already functioning, or those who would like to function, in these roles
  • Church leaders to see the requirement for good administration and governance to release themselves and other ministries

Equipping

  • Sharing information and research that have a common interest among the churches
  • Informal networking amongst the churches
  • Being available as a resource
  • Organising publications (e.g. KickStart information sheets), consultations and seminars
  • Learning from each others' successes and failures

Encouraging

  • One another humbly to serve someone else's vision
  • One another through relationship and mutual support
  • One another to hone and develop our skills, including reviewing local church administration and governance

Resources

  • You can subscribe to an occasional ‘Legal and Financial Bulletin’. This mailing list will only be used to send information affecting church administration, finance or governance. Click here to subscribe. All UK Church Administrators will automatically receive any Bulletins.
  • The Admin Forum publishes a number of resource sheets called 'KickStart' (current titles are shown in the panel to the right). These are positioned to get you started on key issues, answering the following questions on a side of A4:
    • What are the issues?
    • Does it affect us?
    • What do we do next?

Current titles are shown in the panel to the right.
